Rescue 1122 installs safety container at Indus River picnic point in DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan has installed a safety container at the Indus River picnic point as part of enhanced precautionary measures to protect visitors and prevent drowning incidents during the ongoing monsoon season.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the initiative has been launched on the directives of District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan to ensure the safety of tourists and local residents visiting the riverbank.

The safety container has been established to promote public awareness about water safety, discourage risky activities near the river and facilitate a swift emergency response in case of any untoward incident.

The spokesperson said Rescue 1122 personnel, in coordination with the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), would remain deployed at the picnic point to guide visitors on safety precautions, monitor the area and provide immediate rescue services whenever required.

Rescue 1122 urged the public to strictly observe safety guidelines while visiting rivers and other water bodies, cooperate with rescue and district administration officials, and immediately report any emergency by calling the Rescue 1122 emergency helpline.

The department reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives through preventive measures, public awareness and prompt emergency response during the monsoon season.
