Suspect held in citizen's murder over minor dispute in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the fatal stabbing of a citizen following a minor altercation, police said on Sunday.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident occurred a few days ago, after which a case was registered against an unidentified suspect.

The spokesperson said City Police launched an investigation and, using CCTV footage along with other technical and investigative resources, successfully identified and arrested the accused.

The suspect has undergone identification parade, confirming his identity in connection with the murder case, the spokesperson added.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Saad Arshad said the accused would be produced before the court with substantial evidence to ensure legal proceedings are carried out in accordance with the law.

He said Rawalpindi Police fully committed to bring those involved in serious crimes to justice through effective investigation and timely action.
