Religious scholars vow to establish interfaith harmony, unity in Muharram

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) The speakers at a seminar agreed to promote tolerance, interfaith harmony, national unity, law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.

The seminar was held at Jamia Qadria Rizvia, Mustafaabad, Sargodha Road here on Monday, which was presided over by the noted religious figure and member of the Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan Sahibzada Hafiz Muhammad Amjad. RPO Suhail Akhtar Sukhera especially attended the seminar titled “Paigam-e-Pakistan & Paigam-e-Aman. Former members of parliament Haji Akram Ansari and Sheikh Ijaz, Maulana Riaz Kharal, Allama Tahirul Hassan, Mufti Habibullah, Syed Hasnain Shirazi, and other scholars and noted personalities from different schools of thought also participated in the seminar.

Addressing the participants, Sahibzada Hafiz Muhammad Amjad said that interfaith harmony would be maintained at every cost during Muharram-ul-Haram.

He said that anti-social elements and miscreants would not be allowed to disturb peace with national unity. He said that religious scholars from all schools of thought and law enforcement agencies are united for the establishment of peace.

On the occasion, Maulana Riaz Kharal said that scholars stand by the security agencies to establish law and order and emphasized that establishing peace is the common responsibility of all of them.

RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera said that peace, tolerance and brotherhood are the true identity of the ‘Paigam-e-Pakistan’. He clarified that a zero tolerance policy would be followed against sectarianism, provocation and hateful activities.
