Rehabilitation of nine roads begins in PP-288

DERA GHAZI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) Construction, rehabilitation, and expansion work on nine major roads has begun in Provincial Constituency PP-288, marking a major step toward improving connectivity and infrastructure in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, Muhammad Hanif Khan Pitafi, laid the foundation stones under the Khushhal Program. The projects are being executed through a special grant provided by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Officials briefed that the ongoing schemes include:

•1 km road from Chah Sananway Wala to the adjoining route in Union Council 56

•7 km road from N-55 to Samina Bridge via Shoria Right Bank

•3 km road from Basti Panwar to Basti Panwar Manka Canal Road

These roads are being constructed as modern carpeted/asphalt routes to meet contemporary standards.

Speaking at the inauguration, Pitafi said providing improved travel facilities to residents of PP-288 is the government’s top priority. He noted that these projects will play a vital role in regional development and public welfare.

He further stated that, with the special attention of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, record development work is underway in the constituency. Upon completion, the schemes will ease transportation, strengthen local trade, and promote socio-economic growth.

The initiative is expected to enhance mobility, support economic activity, and provide residents with safe and reliable infrastructure.
