Govt taking steps to bring tax evaders into tax net: Kayani

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani on Monday said the government is taking effective measures to bring tax

evaders into the tax net and broaden the country's tax base.

Speaking to a private television channel, he said a special scheme has been introduced for small traders to expand the tax network and improve revenue collection.

Responding to a question regarding relief for the salaried class, the minister said that tax rates have been reduced across various income slabs in line with the recently announced Federal budget.

He added that the reduction in tax rates would help ease the financial burden on salaried individuals.

He further said that the government is implementing policies aimed at strengthening the economy and boosting exports. He noted that several measures have been taken to achieve sustainable economic growth and enhance the country's export performance. The minister reiterated the government's commitment to economic reforms and widening the tax base to ensure greater fiscal stability.
