A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said the blast caused severe structural damage to the building. Rescue teams immediately reached the scene after receiving information and launched an emergency operation, while firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after intense efforts.

All injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and rescue sources said initial reports suggest a gas leak as the likely cause of the blast, adding that the area was later cleared after completion of the operation.
