Rawalpindi authorities chair Peace Committee meeting to review Muharram security arrangements

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Engineer Aamir Khattak and Regional Police Officer Babar Sarfraz Alpa chaired a meeting at the DC office Attock to review law and order and security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram.

During the meeting, arrangements for the security of Majalis and processions, inter-sect harmony and measures for maintaining peace during Muharram-ul-Haram were reviewed in detail, DPO Attock Sardar Mavarhan Khan, Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, members of the Peace Committee and officers of relevant departments also attended the meeting.

Commissioner stated that maintaining peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram is the top priority of the Government of Punjab.

He emphasized that all concerned departments would perform their responsibilities through mutual coordination and a comprehensive strategy.

He further said that Attock has a strong tradition of religious harmony and brotherhood, and urged religious scholars and members of the Peace Committee to continue playing their constructive role in preserving this atmosphere.

RPO briefed the participants on the security plan and informed them that all sensitive and highly sensitive Majalis and processions would be closely monitored during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Personnel from the police, Elite Force, and other law enforcement agencies will be deployed for security duties. He added that CCTV monitoring, search and sweep operations, checking of entry and exit points, and intelligence-based measures would be further strengthened.

He directed the officials concerned to ensure foolproof security arrangements and continue effective action against miscreant elements.

He also urged the members of the Peace Committee to play their active role in promoting religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood.
