Ramazan Nigehban Program provides daily Iftar to thousands in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Under the special Ramazan Nigehban Package by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Ramazan relief initiatives are being actively implemented across Bahawalpur district to support deserving and low-income citizens.

As part of the program, ten Ramazan Nigehban Dastarkhwans have been established at key locations, where thousands of individuals benefit daily from organized and quality Iftar and meal services.

According to the district administration, providing dignified relief to financially vulnerable segments of society during the holy month remains a top priority of the Government of Punjab. The facilities have been set up across various tehsils of the district with transparent and well-managed arrangements to ensure equitable access for those in need.

In Tehsil Hasilpur, daily Iftar is being provided to 150 individuals at Union Council Office No. 28 (Chak 188/M Chhuna Wala), while 250 people are served meals at the Municipal Committee site on Baldia Road. In Tehsil Bahawalpur Saddar, Government Boys High school Noorpur is serving 150 individuals daily, while Ashraf Sugar Mills is facilitating approximately 300 beneficiaries each day. In Tehsil Khairpur Tamewali, relief meals are being provided to 125 individuals at Rajput Travels (Chowk No.

4) and 110 individuals at the Municipal Committee Office. Similarly, in Tehsil Yazman, two separate dastarkhwans at Gulshan Park and the Municipal Committee Office are each serving around 200 people daily. In Bahawalpur City, facilities established at Civil Hospital and the General Bus Stand are each providing meals for approximately 250 individuals every day.

District authorities have ensured that all sites maintain high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and respect for beneficiaries. Both takeaway Iftar packages and on-site dining options are available. Philanthropists and community members are also actively contributing to support this welfare initiative.

The Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur stated that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, no deserving citizen will be left unsupported during Ramadan. Officials have been directed to maintain efficient arrangements and provide services with dignity and respect.

Citizens and social circles have widely appreciated the initiative, noting that the “Ramazan Nigehban 2026” program is providing significant relief to economically vulnerable families amid rising living costs. The efforts of the Government of Punjab and district administration have been described as commendable steps toward public welfare.
