Rakhni-Bekar road to usher in new era of development: Secretary C&W

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Secretary Communications and Works (C&W) Babar Khan on Thursday said that the construction of Rakhni to Bekar road would be ushered in a new era of development and prosperity in the area.

He said this while presiding over a review meeting held regarding the progress of the Rakhni to Bekar road project.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Sibi Zone Zubair Ahmed Khosa, Chief Engineer Federal Projects Dr. Sajjad Baloch, SE Naseerabad Circle Muhammad Akram Khawaja Khel, Executive Engineer Roads Dera Bugti Shamsul Haq Consultants and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, Executive Engineer Shamsul Haq gave a detailed briefing on the project and said that the construction work is going on at a fast pace and the department is determined to complete the project before the stipulated time.

He added that there are some technical issues related to funds, but they would be resolved soon and the pace of work to be further accelerated.

Secretary Babar Khan, while addressing the meeting, stressed the importance of the project and said that after Rakhni gets the status of divisional headquarters, this highway from Bekar and Upper Dera Bugti would be connected to the highway, however, a significant increase in traffic is expected, so timely and quality completion of the road is very important.

He directed the concerned authorities to immediately remove all technical obstacles so that there is no delay in the completion of the project.

He said that this highway would not only improve regional connectivity but would also play an important role in promoting economic activities and public convenience.
