Railway authorities propose enhanced security measures across tracks

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Divisional Superintendent Railways Muhammad Hanif Gul has called for intensified protection of railway tracks and installations in light of the prevailing security situation.

In a letter to higher authorities,Gul urged district police to step up patrolling along both sides of railway tracks and stressed that railway bridges and underpasses be treated as top-priority assets.

Special security arrangements were also being proposed at sensitive locations to ensure uninterrupted train operations.

The DS Railways requested close coordination with Regional Police Officers of Multan,Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur,Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions and advised informing commissioners about any potential security threats in the coming days.

Meanwhile,the Special Railway Police has been directed to work alongside district police to further strengthen security measures along tracks and installations.
