CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Federal Minister for board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh offered Eid-ul-Adha prayers at the Central Eidgah in Chiniot after returning from an official visit to China with the delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. After the prayers, he met citizens, exchanged Eid greetings, and later spoke to the media about the outcomes of the four-day visit.
The minister said the Pakistani delegation travelled directly from Islamabad to Beijing, where several high-level meetings and an investment conference were held under the supervision of the Board of Investment. He said investors and businessmen from sectors including artificial intelligence, information technology, agriculture, infrastructure, and industry participated in the conference aimed at strengthening ties between Chinese investors and Pakistan’s business community. He added that the initiative was conducted at the private business level without placing any additional financial burden on the government, while several memorandums of understanding and investment agreements were progressing rapidly.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh described China as Pakistan’s “all-weather friend,” saying the visit also coincided with celebrations marking 75 years of Pak-China friendship.

The minister stated that China was keen to expand investment in Pakistan, particularly in Gwadar, technology, agriculture, industry, and infrastructure sectors, adding that rising labour costs in China had made Pakistan an attractive destination for investors.
Speaking on domestic matters, the federal minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and security agencies in the fight against terrorism, alleging that hostile elements were attempting to undermine Chinese investment and the Gwadar project. He also praised the Punjab government’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative launched under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, saying the programme had significantly improved sanitation arrangements during Eid-ul-Adha. Earlier, the minister visited a Suthra Punjab camp established outside the Eidgah and later performed the ritual sacrifice at his camp following Eid prayers.
