LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) A delegation of AGHS, a law firm working for the protection and promotion of women’s rights, called on Director General Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Dr. Lubna Nazir on Tuesday and discussed ongoing cooperation and future initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s legal empowerment and access to justice.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed their collaboration under which the Legal Aid Cell of the late Asma Jahangir’s law firm, in partnership with PWPA, provides legal assistance to women in cases relating to domestic violence, child custody, maintenance and other legal matters. The participants discussed measures to further improve legal support mechanisms available to women seeking protection and justice.
The meeting was informed that the AGHS Legal Aid Cell is also working with Women Protection Centres in Lahore and Multan to provide professional training to lawyers associated with PWPA under its Paralegal Programme.

Dr. Lubna Nazir appreciated the cooperation between AGHS and PWPA under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and acknowledged the role of the partnership in facilitating legal assistance for vulnerable women. Both sides agreed to further strengthen mutual collaboration, expand the scope of free legal aid services across Punjab and extend the lawyers’ training programme at Women Protection Centres to additional cities.
DG Dr. Lubna Nazir emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in ensuring women’s access to justice and providing effective legal support and protection services throughout the province. She said collaborative efforts among institutions are essential for safeguarding women’s rights and strengthening support systems for those in need.
