King Charles honors leading British figures at investiture ceremony

Among those receiving honors was England football star Georgia Stanway.

WINDSOR CASTLE:  King Charles III on Tuesday honored some of Britain’s most accomplished individuals in a special investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, recognizing contributions in sport, healthcare, and the arts.

The ceremony marked the king’s fifth investiture of 2026 and the 23rd investiture conducted by members of the Royal Family this year.

Among those receiving honors was England football star Georgia Stanway, who was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to association football.

Stanway, a midfielder currently playing for Bayern Munich, has emerged as one of the leading figures in women’s football and played a key role in England’s recent international successes.

Former cricketer Katherine Sciver-Brunt was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of her services to women’s cricket and her contributions to communities in Yorkshire.

Widely regarded as one of England’s greatest fast bowlers, she enjoyed an international career spanning nearly two decades.

Healthcare executive Amanda Pritchard received a damehood for her services to the National Health Service. As former chief executive of NHS England, she played a key role in guiding the health service through some of its most challenging periods.

Actress Anne Reid was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to drama, recognizing a career spanning television, film, and theatre.

Buckingham Palace congratulated all recipients, praising their achievements and contributions to British society.
