KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jul, 2026) To mark World Population Day, the Population Welfare Department Sindh organized 186 Mega Camps across all 30 districts of the province to promote family planning and reproductive health services.
According to the issued press release, during the campaign, 7,187 contraceptive injections were administered as short-term family planning methods. For long-term contraception, 2,143 Copper-T IUCDs and 4,332 contraceptive implants were administered. Under permanent family planning services, 1,465 women underwent Tubal Ligation (TL), while 82 men opted for no-scalpel vasectomy (NSV).
Overall, 10,354 family planning clients received services through these camps, reflecting the Population Welfare Department Sindh's strong commitment to expanding access to quality reproductive health and family planning services across the province.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>As part of the World Population Day awareness campaign, digital advertisements were displayed on government buses across Karachi, ensuring that the message of family planning reached people in different parts of the city.
In addition, the Population Welfare Department Sindh organized a Reels contest to engage and educate young people. Youth and children participated enthusiastically, and the winners were recognized with certificates of appreciation and prizes.
