Puppet shows organized to promote positive attitude towards vaccination, health

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Two puppet shows were organized in schools to promote positive attitude towards vaccination and health by raising awareness among children, teachers and community members.

The puppet shows were part of special awareness campaign jointly launched by Integrated Community Development Initiatives (ICDI), Civil Society Human & Institutional Development Programme (CHIP) and Expanded Programme for Immunization (EPI) in commemoration of World Immunization Week starting from April 24 to 30, 2026.

The aim of this campaign is to create awareness among children, teachers and the community about the benefits of immunization, routine schedule and the importance of timely vaccination, so that children can be protected from deadly diseases.

These puppet shows were held Cambridge school in Union Council Haryana and Government Higher Secondary School Daag in Union Counicl Pajagi.

Around 200 students and 32 teachers participated in the session held at Peshawar Cambridge School in Union Council Haryana.

While at Government Higher Secondary School Daag in Union Council Pajagii, 200 students and 23 teachers participated.

During the program, important health messages were given to the children in an interesting and simple way through puppet shows, on which the students expressed great interest. The teachers appreciated this unique method and termed it an effective educational initiative.

On this occasion, the children were told how vaccines provide protection from dangerous diseases and why timely vaccination is important for every child.

In both sessions, the children were encouraged to take this information home and send a message to parents to ensure complete vaccination of younger siblings.

In total, 455 people, including 400 students and 55 teachers, were reached in the two sessions. As a result of the activity, not only did awareness about vaccination increase but also positive attitudes towards health were promoted among children.

According to health experts, such activities play an important role in highlighting the importance of immunizations in the community and increasing the trend of vaccination.
