Punjab okays two new Rescue 1122 stations in rural Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The Punjab government has approved two new Rescue 1122 stations in far flung areas of district Muzaffargarh reaffirming Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's commitment to expanding top quality emergency services to rural areas.

Responding to the development, MNA Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led Punjab government for approving the establishment of a Rescue 1122 center in Wasanday Wali and another at Chowk Makwal. He said that the facility would cover a larger population surrounding the two stations and will help provide timely assistance to people in emergency situations.

He said, his request highlighting the absence of any nearby rescue facility in the area despite its growing population, won approval from the government taking into account the frequency of traffic accidents, burn incidents, drowning emergencies, and other unforeseen situations.

The facilities were essential to enable that residents to avail facility at home instead of seeking help from distant rescue stations located in Muzaffargarh, Jatoi, and Khan Garh.

Former deputy commissioner Quratul Ain had forwarded the request to the Punjab government.

Construction work is expected to begin soon.
