FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Secretary Local Government Punjab Shakeel Ahmed Mian visited Faisalabad on Wednesday and reviewed cleanliness arrangements and sanitation operations being carried out on Eid-ul-Azha days under the Punjab government’s Suthra Punjab campaign.
Divisional Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir and Managing Director (MD) Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) Abid Hussain Bhatti also accompanied the secretary during visits to different areas of the city.
The secretary inspected cleanliness arrangements and reviewed the ongoing process of lifting and disposal of sacrificial animal waste from roads, streets, markets and residential areas.
During visit, Shakeel Ahmed Mian also visited the control room established by the Suthra Punjab Agency where SPA officials briefed him about operational monitoring, vehicle tracking and field performance during Eid cleanliness operations.
He reviewed the complaint redressal mechanism at the complaint cell and examined measures being adopted for immediate response to public complaints regarding sanitation issues.
The secretary also visited the Canal Road TCP point and inspected arrangements made for disposal of animal offal and waste at designated dumping locations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>SPA officials informed him about deployment of machinery, manpower and operational strategies adopted to ensure timely lifting and disposal of sacrificial waste during Eid-ul-Azha.
Shakeel Ahmed Mian reviewed the performance of field teams and availability of machinery being utilized in various zones of the district for cleanliness operations.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed SPA officers concerned to ensure effective implementation of the Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness plan and maintain continuous monitoring of field operations.
He warned that no negligence or laxity in sanitation arrangements would be tolerated and instructed officials to ensure full presence of staff and machinery in the field throughout Eid holidays.
The secretary emphasized that provision of a clean and hygienic environment to citizens during Eid-ul-Azha is top priority of the Punjab government.
He appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers and officers engaged in the cleanliness campaign and directed them to continue operations with dedication and commitment to facilitate the public.
