The Punjab government has announced new healthcare facilities for journalists and their families through the Lahore Press Club (LPC).

Punjab Health and Population Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir made the announcement during his visit to the Lahore Press Club, where he was welcomed by LPC President Arshad Ansari, General Secretary Afzal Talib, and Governing Body Member Sajjad Kazmi.

During the visit, he inaugurated a “Clinic on Wheels” service for journalists. Under this initiative, journalists will be able to get free medical check-ups, medicines, and basic diagnostic services.

He also said that registration has begun for a program that will provide home delivery of insulin and other medicines to journalists. According to him, this insulin home delivery scheme will directly support registered and deserving journalists.

The minister said these steps are being taken on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the welfare of journalists. He added that journalists play an important role in society, and their health is the government’s responsibility.

He further announced that two Maryam Nawaz Clinics will be set up in the Journalists’ Colony. A visit to the area will soon be made to decide the location for a new medical clinic building.
