PHA DG Raja Mansoor says illuminated crescent moons, stars, mosques and traditional lanterns have been set up in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Sargodha, among other cities, to create a festive and welcoming atmosphere on major roads and streets
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 18th, 2026) The Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) has installed decorative models across the province to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad said on Wednesday.
Mr Raja said that illuminated crescent moons, stars, mosques and traditional lanterns have been set up in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Sargodha, among other cities, to create a festive and welcoming atmosphere on major roads and streets.
He said the installations have been placed at prominent intersections and commercial areas to enhance the visual appeal of cities during the sacred month.
Mr Raja added that PHA staff worked round the clock to complete the installations before the start of Ramadan.
He said the initiative was aimed at promoting a sense of unity and spirituality among residents.

Pakistan is expected to welcome Ramadan on Thursday after Saudi Arabia announced the beginning of the holy month on Wednesday following the sighting of the crescent moon in the kingdom, home to Islam’s two holiest sites.
Mr Raja also reiterated the authority’s commitment to improving urban landscaping and expanding plantation drives, in line with the chief minister’s vision, in order to provide a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment across Punjab.
