FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) City President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sheikh Ejaz on Tuesday termed the Punjab Budget 2026-27 a people-centric, balanced and progressive financial plan, saying that it effectively reflects public aspirations and provides a strong foundation for sustainable development and a brighter future for the province.
In his budget reaction, he said that despite challenging economic conditions, Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, Provincial Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and their team had demonstrated prudence and commitment by presenting a comprehensive budget that addressed needs of various segments of the society while maintaining development momentum.
He paid tribute to the chief minister and her economic team for formulating a thoughtful and forward-looking financial plan.The budget was not merely an estimate of revenues and expenditures but a comprehensive roadmap for economic growth, prosperity and public welfare, he added.
He said that the budget had taken into account the priorities and requirements of all sections of the society including farmers, laborers, students, teachers, industrialists, traders, youth, women, government employees, pensioners and urban as well as rural area population.
He said that the provincial government had proposed meaningful measures to further strengthen the education sector, improve access to quality healthcare, promote agricultural development, boost industrial production, create employment opportunities and enhance infrastructure across the province.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said that substantial allocations for welfare projects, social protection initiatives and support for underprivileged segments reflected the government's awareness of public challenges and its determination to address them through practical measures.
He said that under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government had reaffirmed its commitment to advance education, improve healthcare services, support agriculture, accelerate industrial growth and strengthen infrastructure development.
He said that the government's emphasis on social protection as a state responsibility would provide hope and relief to vulnerable and marginalized communities across the province.
He said that the budget was designed not only to address present-day challenges but also to create long-term opportunities for future generations.
He said that the proposed initiatives in the areas of development, investment, employment and public service would contribute significantly to Punjab's economic progress and social stability.
He expressed confidence that effective and transparent implementation of the budgetary measures would open a new chapter of economic growth, public prosperity and institutional development in Punjab.
The budget reflected a balanced vision that combined fiscal responsibility with public welfare and development priorities as its successful execution would help strengthen the provincial economy and improve the quality of life of citizens across Punjab, he added.
