ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shumaila Rana on Thursday strongly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), saying that while Pakistan and its Islamic brotherly nations face a critical moment requiring unity, the party remains obsessed with self-serving politics instead of standing with the nation.

While speaking to the Pakistan Television Corporation (ptv news), Rana said Pakistan is currently confronting serious security challenges and threats of terrorism from both Afghanistan and India.

She added that under such circumstances the country required unity and collective responsibility, stressing that Pakistan must also stand firmly with its brotherly nations during difficult times.

PML-N leader said the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N) had tried to take all opposition parties into confidence and sought their suggestions to address the national situation.

However, she claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was not taking the matter seriously and remained focused on meetings and campaigns demanding the release of its founder, Imran Khan, instead of prioritizing national unity.

Shumaila Rana further claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has a history of prioritizing personal and political interests over national matters.

She alleged that the party had adopted a similar approach in the past regarding parliamentary bodies related to Kashmir, accusing it of using such platforms to advance its own agenda rather than working for broader national consensus.

She added that the party’s conduct has now been “fully exposed,” stating that the nation can clearly see that PTI’s focus remains limited to its own political objectives.

The public is increasingly aware that the party continues to push its agenda instead of contributing constructively to national unity during a challenging time, she added.

Responding a query, she also warned that Pakistan could not afford any form of threat at this critical juncture, whether external or internal, adding, safeguarding the country’s stability and security must remain the top priority.

She said the nation stands united against all kinds of challenges and emphasized that political forces must act responsibly in the larger national interest.

Rana added that the government and the people of Pakistan would not tolerate any move that undermines the country’s unity or security.
