PSCA helpline-15 offers free mental health counselling to citizens

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is successfully operating a free counselling service through Emergency Helpline-15 for citizens experiencing mental stress, anxiety and psychological distress.

According to a PSCA spokesperson on Thursday, the initiative is providing immediate, effective and professional psychological support to individuals in need. He said that from January to April 2026, more than 276 calls were received on Helpline-15 in which citizens reported mental distress and suicidal thoughts. In all such cases, Safe City teams took prompt action and immediately connected affected individuals with trained psychologists through conference calls.

The spokesperson said that psychologists deployed at Safe City provided timely guidance and professional counseling, playing a vital role in preventing individuals from taking extreme steps.

He added that the service is not only helping save precious lives but is also restoring hope and supporting individuals in returning to normal life.

He further urged citizens facing mental stress, anxiety, hopelessness or suicidal thoughts to immediately dial Emergency Helpline-15 and press 7 to connect with a qualified psychologist for instant assistance. He added that citizens can also access 24/7 psychological support through the “GenZ App.”

The spokesperson emphasised that all information and identity of callers remain strictly confidential throughout the counselling process. He said that PSCA remains committed to using modern technology for public safety, welfare and the promotion of mental well-being.
