SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) The second day of the three-day training seminar, organised by the Prosecution Department Punjab under the vision of effective and timely justice of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was devoted to legal and technical issues related to rape and sodomy cases.
In the session held at the District Prosecutor’s Office, Senior Lawyer Muhammad Afzal Farooq Advocate delivered a special lecture. He gave a detailed briefing on effective presentation of evidence in rape and sodomy cases, reliance on modern scientific and forensic evidence, post-trial assessment and preparation of recommendations after the cases.
He said that in such sensitive cases, strong coordination between investigation and prosecution and proper legal examination of evidence are essential so that the victims get justice in time.
District Prosecutor Imran Ahmed Qaiser conducted a session on practical aspects of pre-trial procedure, scrutiny of challan, case review and charging stand. He stressed that every legal point should be scrutinized carefully before presenting the cases in court so that weaknesses can be removed.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Akhtar Bhatti and Deputy Prosecutor Imran Ahmed were also present at the event. The participants were informed that the aim of this training program is to enhance the professional skills of prosecutors and investigation officers and ensure effective prosecution of sensitive cases. At the end, a question and answer session was held in which the participants sought guidance on various legal and practical issues.
