Pre-flood mock exercise conducted to enhance emergency preparedness

SARGODHA Apr 23 (APP) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 23rd Apr, 2026) Punjab Emergency Service Khushab on Thursday organized a dry pre-flood mock exercise at District Council Joharabad to review preparedness for potential flood situations.

According to the spokesperson for the Rescue 1122 here, Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr Jahanzeb Hussain Labar, attended the event as chief guest, while ADCG Sajid Munir Kalyar, AC Khushab Chaudhry Ziaullah, and representatives from various departments including Health, Social Welfare, PDMA, Livestock, Rescue volunteers, and other relevant agencies were also present.

The mock drill featured the establishment of multiple operational setups, including medical equipment and flood equipment stalls, a rescue and disaster management station, an incident command post, and a flood relief camp.

The DC along with other officials, visited various stalls set up by the Punjab Emergency Service and other departments.

During the visit, detailed briefings were given regarding the equipment and strategies for managing flood-related emergencies.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of effective communication and strong coordination among all departments during flood situations to ensure timely response and maximum protection of lives and property.

He expressed satisfaction over the preparedness of Punjab Emergency Service Khushab and appreciated their efforts to proactively address potential flood risks.

Addressing the participants, District Emergency Officer Ali Hussain stated that the Primary objective of the exercise was to ensure all equipment is functional and that

teams remain fully prepared for emergency situations.
