Postgraduate training of 2 doctors suspended in Nishtar Hospital HIV screening case

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) The Punjab Health Department has taken further action against those responsible in the case of surgery performed on a patient without HIV screening at Nishtar Hospital Multan.

According to official sources on Sunday, the postgraduate training of Dr.

Sania Saeed in FCPS Chemical Pathology and Dr. Irsa Asif in MS General Surgery has been suspended.

The action against both doctors was taken on the recommendations of the Institutional Postgraduate Medical education Committee.

Earlier, the Punjab Health Department had also suspended several doctors and nursing staff over negligence and mismanagement in the same case.
