Police warn pharmacies/medical stores to stop sale of narcotics items

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) The district police have warned the pharmacies/medical store owners to immediately stop sale of narcotics items and illegal drugs, as a vigorous crackdown is being launched on violators.

According to the police spokesperson here Friday, the police is going to launch a crackdown on illegal sale of narcotics items and drugs at pharmacies / medical stores and stern legal action will be taken against the stores, if any found involved in illegal practice.

The sale, purchase and hoarding of such narcotics, drug items is a crime and such items could be sold only on doctors’ advice.

He said that joint teams of police and health department would check pharmacies, medical stores and will take strict legal action if anyone found in illegality.

Meanwhile, CPO said that it is our collective responsibility to save the youth from the scourge of addiction adding that no one could be allowed to play with the future of youth for vested financial interests.

The medical store owners can run their business according to the laws, he said.
