Police recover abducted infant,arrest four kidnappers

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2026) Police recovered an infant four days after his alleged abduction and arrested four suspects,including three women, during a raid in Islamabad,a police spokesperson said on Saturday.

According to police,the child,Haris(8 months), was allegedly kidnapped from Abbas Colony in the Bhagtanwala area on July 1,2026(Wednesday).

Following the incident,District Police Officer (DPO),Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf constituted a special investigation team to ensure the child's safe recovery.

According to the spokesperson,the investigators analyzed footage from 436 CCTV cameras and used modern surveillance techniques to trace the suspects,who had allegedly switched multiple vehicles and turned off their mobile phones to evade arrest.

After a three-day search operation, police raided 59 hotels and guest houses in Rawalpindi and Islamabad before tracing the suspects to Prince Hotel in Faizabad,where they were arrested and the infant was recovered safely.

Police said the suspects told investigators during initial interrogation that they had abducted the child after the death of their own infant and had developed an attachment to Haris.

The infant was later reunited with his family.

Police said further legal proceedings against the arrested suspects were underway.
