Police officers honoured for outstanding Muharram security duties

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah on Wednesday honoured police officers and personnel for their outstanding performance during Muharram-ul-Haram, saying their professionalism and dedication ensured the peaceful observance of the holy month across the district.

According to a police spokesperson, a special ceremony was held at Police Lines Muzaffargarh where the DPO distributed certificates of appreciation among officers and officials in recognition of their exemplary security services during Muharram. A special refreshment was also arranged for the participants.

The ceremony was attended by SP Investigation Nasir Mehmood, ASP Nabeel Ahmed, DSP Headquarters Waheed Ishaq Khanzada, Sardar Ibrahim Khan Dreshak, DSP Safe City Tariq Sattar, DSP Traffic Muhammad Abu Bakar, SDPOs Muhammad Zafar Wattoo, Nadeem Ahmed, Mehmood Akbar Buzdar and Jam Allah Yar Saifi, Inspector Legal Tajammal Hussain, Reserve Inspector Riaz Hussain Ghaloo, Accountant Zulfiqar Khan Qaisrani, Mess In-charge Malik Waseem, MT In-charge Najam-ul-Hassan, Miscellaneous In-charge Iftikhar Ullah, Line Officer Muhammad Nawaz, Security In-charge Shakir Hasnain Bukhari, Reader Sibt-ul-Hassan, OSI Abid Hussain Chandia, District Manager Safe City Rizwan Khan, Pukar In-charge Sharif Joiya, and SHOs from across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah said every police officer and official had performed beyond expectations despite extreme weather conditions and a highly sensitive security environment.

“The outstanding performance of every police officer and jawan has made me proud,” he said, adding that the successful execution of the Muharram security plan was the result of teamwork, commitment and professionalism.

He said the district police would now further intensify the ongoing crackdown against criminals and organised gangs and continue to perform their professional responsibilities with greater efficiency to ensure peace and law and order across the district.
