Police foil terrorist attack on Khutti check post in D I Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Unidentified armed militants attacked the Khutti Police Check Post with heavy weapons under the cover of darkness late at night. Police personnel stationed at the check post responded promptly and effectively, repulsing the attack and forcing the assailants to flee the scene.

According to the police spokesman, during the exchange of fire, one police constable sustained injuries. Upon receiving information about the incident, a heavy contingent of police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel reached the spot under the supervision of SP City Division, Murtaza Khan Bangash.

The injured constable was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Security forces also launched a search operation in the surrounding area to trace the fleeing militants.

Meanwhile, the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) safely defused hand grenades and explosive material allegedly left behind by the attackers. Authorities have further intensified security measures in the area following the incident.
