Police encounter in Quetta leaves criminal dead, two arrested

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) A police operation in the Saryab area’s Kachi Baig locality resulted in an exchange of fire with suspected motorcycle and mobile snatchers, leaving one suspect dead and two others injured and arrested.

According to police, officers responded promptly to reports of street robberies in Kachi Baig. Upon arrival, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police party, prompting a retaliatory response. In the ensuing shootout, Nasrullah of the Jatoi tribe, resident of Dhadar and currently living on Saryab Road, was killed, while Asadullah of the Rahija tribe and Sanaullah of the Jatoi tribe, both residents of Dhadar, were apprehended in an injured condition.

Police confirmed that the arrested suspects were involved in multiple robberies and mobile-snatching incidents across different police jurisdictions in Saryab. During the operation, officers recovered 11 snatched mobile phones, a TT pistol, and a stolen motorcycle used in the crimes.

The injured suspects were shifted to the hospital for treatment, where Nasrullah succumbed to his injuries during medical care at Civil Hospital. Police said that further revelations are expected during the interrogation of the arrested suspects.

Kachi Baig Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
