Police bust 15 dangerous gangs involved in organized crimes

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) The district police successfully busted 15 dangerous gangs involved in organized crime.

This was revealed in monthly performance report released here Sunday, detailing extensive operations against criminal elements, drug traffickers and proclaimed offenders. The operations were conducted under the instructions of SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa.

According to performance report, police conducted large-scale crackdowns over the past month, out of which 18 police encounters took place across different parts of the district, resulting in 18 suspects being arrested in injured condition, while an additional 14 active criminals were also apprehended.

The police also intensified efforts against fugitives, arresting 95 proclaimed and absconding offenders and bringing them before the law. In operations against illegal weapons, 29 cases were registered and 29 suspects were taken into custody. Recovered weapons included 27 pistols, two repeaters, and 52 rounds of ammunition.

Crackdowns on narcotics led to registration of 69 cases and arrest of 76 drug dealers. Seized contraband included 25.875 kilograms of hashish, 763 liters of locally manufactured liquor, 1,300 grams of cannabis, and 900 grams of crystal meth (ice). Action was also taken against sale of hazardous gutka, with 79 cases registered and 89 suspects arrested. Police recovered 270.89 kilograms of Z-21 gutka along with more than 4 kilograms of other harmful gutka products.

On the other hand, police recovered more than 25 motorcycles that had been snatched or stolen, while legal action was taken against 18 motorcycles used in criminal activities. In his statement, SSP Sameer Noor Channa reaffirmed that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority. He emphasized that there would be zero tolerance for criminal elements and that operations would continue with greater intensity to ensure lasting peace in the district.
