LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) Japan Embassy's Counsellor and Head of Culture & Public Information, Mr. Kazumasa Takane,
said on Sunday that Pakistan-Japan Socio-Economic Association (PJSA) was supporting professional
skill development through Japan focused training in work ethics, discipline, technical skills and
societal values.
Addressing as chief guest at 'Sakura Tea Time Celebration-2026' here, he asserted, the PJSA
youth empowerment and cultural development initiatives includes promotion of Japanese language
education across Pakistan through learning programmes and engage with Japanese government
bodies, embassies and institutions to build strong bilateral socio-economic relations. The Association
was actively engaged in successfully organising cultural exchange events including Japanese
festivals, language contests, cultural workshops and youth engagement activities in Pakistan.
He said, collaboration with educational institutions, ministries and partner organisations was poised
to promote Japanese education and career programmes across Pakistan. The PJSA efforts bear
fruit generating employment opportunities for Pakistani youth in Japan after successful qualifying
Japanese language exams and the eligible could also avail merit scholarships.
Earlier in her welcome address, PJSA President Ms Sitara Arif said, "We work in coordination
with Pakistan's Federal Ministry of Education, Japan Embassy, Pakistan-Japan business
Forum (PJBF) and Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) to maximize national reach
and impact.

She continued that PJSA mission is: “There is a strong need to cultivate values, ethics, discipline,
and a true understanding of the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai among Pakistani youth, enabling
them to grow into upright, purpose-driven, and globally competent individuals capable of achieving
excellence and meaningful success in every sphere of life."
Chief Executive Officer of Murasaki Japanese Language School, Usman Akhtar, said that now
Pakistani students were increasingly inclined toward pursuing Japanese language and later seek
admission to Japanese educational institutions ultimately generating job opportunities in Japan.
A numbers of people from different shades of life including Ms Saba Arslan Higher Education Advisor Japan Embassy, Air Vice Marshal Sajid Habib, Kyrgyzstan Counsel Meher Kashif Younis, Principal Murasaki
Japanese Language school Nouman Akhtar also graced the occasion. Students also sung Japanese
song and took part in contests of Japanese photography.
At the end of event, Mr. Kazumasa Takane distributed shields and souvenirs among the participant.
