Police arrest 862 suspects, recover 10 kidnapped persons in Balochistan

Balochistan Police arrested at least 862 suspects in special operations against criminals, including drug dealers, proclaimed offenders, thieves and other serious crimes throughout the province during the last three weeks

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Balochistan Police arrested at least 862 suspects in special operations against criminals, including drug dealers, proclaimed offenders, thieves and other serious crimes throughout the province during the last three weeks.

As 5 stolen vehicles, 39 motorcycles, 12 mobile phones, 122 pistols and revolvers, 15 shotguns, 4 Kalashnikovs, 594 cartridges, 91 magazines were recovered from their possession. At least 10 kidnapped persons were recovered during the operation by the police.

According to Balochistan Police spokesman, while taking action against drug peddlers, 111 suspects were arrested and 743,678 hashish, 11,630 ice shisha, 10,665 opium and 1,620 liquor bottles were recovered from their possession.

He said that, in addition, 295 wanted men and 402 proclaimed offenders were arrested, while 718 suspects were arrested for various crimes and 10 kidnapped persons were also rescued.

During these operations, 5 stolen vehicles, 39 motorcycles, 12 mobile phones, 450 foreign cigarettes, 1,478 liters of petrol, 203 liters of diesel, 300,000 in cash, 27 motorcycles and vehicles were seized under operation 550/411 and in addition, tinted windows were removed from 2,109 vehicles.

He said that Balochistan Police is carrying out operations across the province to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people. In addition, targeted operations were conducted in different districts of 7 ranges, including Quetta, in which various serious crimes, such as theft, robbery, declared and absconding accused were arrested.

He said that it is intended to provide a peaceful and crime-free environment to the citizens across the province to prevent crimes and protect the people.

It should be noted that during the special campaign at the direction of the IG Police Balochistan, steps were taken to prevent the escape of wanted criminals and declared criminals from one area to another.

A complete investigation of the records of the arrested accused and a series of information exchanges are also underway.
