Police, army launch joint search operation against criminals

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Swat Police, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, conducted a joint grand search and strike operation against anti-state and criminal elements in the mountainous areas of Kabal tehsil, officials said on Tuesday.

The operation was led by District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, Muhammad Umar Khan and involved personnel from the District Police, Pakistan Army, Elite Force, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), and District Special Branch (DSB). Local residents also participated in the operation.

The search operation was carried out in the mountainous areas of Qalagay and Jakar Baba, falling within the jurisdiction of Kabal Police Station, where security forces searched suspected hideouts of miscreants.

During the operation, police officials also met local elders and discussed suspicious individuals and activities to strengthen community cooperation in maintaining peace.

DPO Khan said search operations would continue across the district to ensure the protection of lives and property.

He said the objective was to eliminate anti-social and criminal elements and maintain strict vigilance in view of the prevailing security situation.

He said no one would be allowed to challenge the writ of the state or disturb law and order, adding that Swat Police, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, remained fully alert and would deal firmly with anyone attempting to undermine peace in the district.
