PO arrested from Dubai in murder case

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) The Special Operations Cell of Sargodha region has arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case from abroad, officials said on Saturday.

According to police,the accused,identified as Abdullah Sajjad had allegedly killed a student,Azhar in 2023 within the limits of Sajid Shaheed police station over personal enmity before fleeing abroad.

The accused was arrested from Dubai through Interpol coordination and subsequently handed over to Pakistani authorities.

Police said the proclaimed offender has been produced before the relevant court and further legal proceedings have been initiated.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan said that 166 proclaimed offenders hiding in different countries had so far been traced.

He added that red notices had been issued for 116 suspects, while more than 30 accused had been arrested from abroad and presented in local courts.

He said police were in constant contact with relevant Federal and international agencies to ensure the arrest and repatriation of remaining suspects.
