PM congratulates Pakistan Navy on arrival of PNS/M Hangor

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday congratulated the Pakistan Navy on the arrival of submarine PNS/M Hangor in Pakistan, describing it as a significant achievement for the country’s maritime defence.

In a statement, the prime minister said the Hangor Submarine Project was a manifestation of the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China and reflected the strong strategic cooperation between the two countries in the defence sector.

He said the induction of PNS/M Hangor would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Pakistan Navy and play an important role in safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests and naval frontiers.

The prime minister said the Hangor Submarine Project marked an important milestone in Pakistan’s journey towards defence self-reliance.

He reiterated that Pakistan remained committed to strengthening its defence capabilities while promoting peace, stability and strategic balance in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif also assured that the government would continue to provide all possible resources to enhance the capabilities of the country’s security forces and develop capacities in line with modern requirements.

The prime minister appreciated the professional excellence of the Pakistan Navy, the engineers associated with the project and all technical experts who contributed to the successful arrival of PNS/M Hangor.
