PESSI launches mobile number correction for ration card holders

The Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) has announced a procedure for registered workers to correct their mobile numbers under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card scheme, enabling them to receive cash payments of Rs 10,000.

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) has announced a procedure for registered workers to correct their mobile numbers under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card scheme, enabling them to receive cash payments of Rs 10,000.

“The workers whose mobile numbers are incorrect on the ration card can visit the nearest branchless banking agents of Bank of Punjab, including UBL Omni, HBL Konnect or Alfa Pay, to verify their identity through Proof of Life (POL). Once verified, they can update their mobile number and receive an OTP code to collect the cash,” a PESSI spokesman said on Tuesday.

Similarly, he said, “the registered workers who have not yet received the ration card but have incorrect mobile numbers can go to the Bank of Punjab branch near their homes or industrial units to correct their numbers. After updating, they will receive a six-digit OTP on the corrected number and can collect the payment from nearby branchless banking agents.”

The spokesman urged all the registered workers to follow the procedure promptly to ensure smooth receipt of Rs 10,000 under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card scheme.
