PESSI hospitals perform 75,996 surgeries during FY2025-26

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) The Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) provided modern, quality and timely healthcare services to millions of registered workers and their families during the financial year 2025-26, performing a total of 75,996 surgeries at its 24 hospitals across Punjab.

According to a PESSI spokesperson, the surgeries included cardiac, gynecology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, breast, eye, ENT (ear, nose and throat), appendix, gallbladder stone, stomach, urology, hernia and several other procedures, reflecting the institution’s growing capacity to deliver specialized healthcare services.

In addition to surgical care, PESSI hospitals continued to provide comprehensive treatment in emergency, medical, surgical, gynecology, pediatric, cardiology and other major specialties. Equipped with modern medical technology and supported by experienced doctors and trained healthcare professionals, the hospitals are ensuring improved treatment facilities for insured workers and their families.

PESSI Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal said that, under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the institution was taking effective measures to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to workers and their families. He said providing modern and quality medical treatment to workers remained PESSI’s foremost priority.

He added that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, Social Security hospitals were being upgraded with advanced surgical and diagnostic equipment. He further said that new hospitals were being established while existing facilities were being expanded to strengthen the Social Security healthcare system and improve access to quality medical services across Punjab.
