Peoples Bus Service expands to Khairpur with two new routes

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Two new routes of the Peoples Bus Service were inaugurated in Khairpur Mirs on Thursday to provide affordable and air-conditioned transport to residents.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said the service was launched under the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

He said the Sindh government was subsidising fares despite rising fuel costs and would add more buses for Khairpur. Pink Bus and Pink Scooty services would also be introduced soon for women’s safe travel, he added.

Memon highlighted PPP’s development record in Sindh, citing the Special Economic Zone in Khairpur, Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences, and the world’s largest free housing scheme for 2.2 million families. He said the party continued to win public trust despite political criticism.

MNA Syeda Nafisa Shah, MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah, MPA Halar Khan Wassan, PPP District President Nawab Khan Wassan and Deputy Commissioner Altaf Ahmed Chachar also spoke.

The minister later inaugurated the routes at Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Bus Terminal.
