People throng medical camp set up by expat Pak cardiologist, 300 disabled persons get ration bags

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) A medical camp was organized in Shah Jamal by a renowned Pakistani cardiologist, currently based in United States, Dr. Amir Leghari, with the collaboration of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and the Social Welfare department where scores of disabled persons and deserving segments of society availed free healthcare services and received ration bags.

According to sources in Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, the US-based Pakistani cardiologist arranged the camp with the help from his brothers Asif Leghari and Musharraf Leghari and the initiative did not merely confined to free medical treatment as 300 disabled persons also received ration bags while many others availed the opportunity to file applications with officials of Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal and social welfare department on the spot for financial assistance.

A 24-member expert medical team from Nishtar Hospital Multan participated in the camp and provided detailed medical examinations, diagnosis and consultations to hundreds of patients.

Dr. Amir Leghari distributed 300 ration bags among persons with disabilities as part of a broader relief initiative intended to support more than 2,000 deserving families.

Divisional Director Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Punjab Azhar Yousaf, accompanied by Assistant Director Qazi Khalil, visited the camp and appreciated the dedication of the organizers, commitment of overseas Pakistanis and local philanthropists to promote health and welfare services in their native areas.

Assistant Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Muzaffargarh Syed Kashif Saleem facilitated the participation of representatives from various government and welfare organizations in the camp. Registration of persons with disabilities was conducted on the spot and applications for financial assistance were also received.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal would continue to support persons with disabilities, widows and other vulnerable groups through a public-private partnership model, particularly with the cooperation of overseas Pakistanis and local philanthropists.
