Panel discussion highlights national unity

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) The ongoing 15-day celebrations marking the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Bunyanul Marsoos at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur continued with a panel discussion and awareness walk organized by the school of State Sciences.

The session was chaired by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Rubina Bhatti, who stated that the event symbolized not just a historical moment but a demonstration of national resilience against a stronger adversary. She noted that Pakistan’s response reflected unity and determination, while the people stood firmly with their armed forces. Director School of State Sciences Dr. Sarfaraz Batool emphasized the role of academic institutions in promoting intellectual awareness among students. She described Bunyan ul Marsoos as a symbol of unity, stability, and collective strength that forms the foundation of a strong nation.

Speakers including Dr. Shakeel Akhtar Chairman Department of Political Science, Dr. Shahbaz Ali Khan Chairman Department of Public Administration, Ansar Abbas Incharge Department of Gender Studies and Dr. Ahsan Riaz Assistant Professor Political Science, shared detailed perspectives on the significance of the event and its national implications. The panel discussion was moderated by Ayesha Kamran, Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration.

Following the session, an awareness walk was held under the leadership of Prof Dr Rubina Bhatti, with participation from faculty members and students, reflecting strong patriotic spirit and engagement.
