Man held for killing father over domestic dispute

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Police have solved the murder mystery of a court employee within 24 hours and arrested the victim’s own son, who allegedly killed his father over a minor dispute and later attempted to mislead investigators by portraying the incident as a robbery.

According to police sources, the victim, Rana Mukhtiar alias Noshi, a court employee, was found dead near a canal embankment a day earlier. During the investigation, police uncovered evidence pointing to his son, Hashir, and one of his associates.

SHO City Police Station Haroon Raza Randhawa said the accused confessed during interrogation that he shot his father dead following a minor altercation and later dumped the body near the canal in an attempt to conceal the crime.

In a shocking twist, the accused not only participated in his father’s funeral prayers but also spent the entire day accompanying police officers in the search for the supposed killer, officials said.

Police took the suspect into custody after inconsistencies emerged during the investigation.

Further investigations were underway, police sources added.
