Pakistani, Saudi Ministers Discuss Hajj Arrangements, Future Reforms

MAKKAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf met with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah to review ongoing Hajj operations and discuss future transport and residential reforms.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Deputy Minister Hasan Manakhrah, Pakistani Secretary Abrar Ahmed Mirza, and DG Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro.

Sardar Muhammad Yousuf praised the modern facilities at the Holy Sites (Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah) and proposed allocating equal space for all nationalities at bus drop-off points to ease congestion.

Dr. Al-Rabiah outlined key upgrades, including ongoing reforms to the Haram transport network, a fair distribution of drop-off points next year based on pilgrim quotas, and significantly increased restroom facilities in Muzdalifah for train commuters. He added that residential buildings in Makkah are being upgraded to meet international standards.

The Saudi Minister announced that preparations for Hajj 2027 will begin immediately after the current season. He commended the Pakistan Hajj Mission for its diligence and congratulated the team for finalizing all contracts well ahead of schedule.
