The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan surged to US$ 21,269 million as of April 24, 2026 while the reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan rose to $ 15,827.9 million mainly due to receipt of Eurobond proceeds

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan surged to US$ 21,269 million as of April 24, 2026 while the reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan rose to $ 15,827.9 million mainly due to receipt of Eurobond proceeds.

“During the week ended on 24-Apr-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 730 million to US$ 15,827.9 million,” the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves, attributing the increase to receipt of Pakistan Eurobond proceeds.

However, the break up of forex reserves depicted that the foreign reserves held by the commercial banks decreased by $ 90 million to $ 5,441.1 million during the period under review.

Pakistan's total liquid foreign reserves in the previous week ended on April 17, 2026 were $ 20,628.5 million. Among them the State Bank of Pakistan held foreign exchange reserves of $ 15,097.6 million while the other $ 5,530.9 million were held by the commercial banks.
