ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Pakistan's total population reached 252.09 million in 2025, including 129.64 million males and 122.45 million females, according to the Economic Survey 2025-26 released by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
The survey showed that the country's population has steadily increased over the years, rising from 241.50 million in 2023 and 246.97 million in 2024 to 252.09 million in 2025.
Official data indicated that Pakistan's male population outnumbered females by more than seven million, with men accounting for 51.4 percent of the total population and women 48.6 percent.
The report also highlighted long-term demographic trends, noting that Pakistan's population has expanded by more than 112 million since 2000, when the country's population stood at around 140 million.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to the survey, population projections have been revised based on the findings of the 2017 Census and estimates prepared by the National Institute of Population Studies (NIPS). The government stressed the need for effective population planning and socio-economic policies to accommodate the needs of a rapidly growing population.
The Economic Survey stated that demographic changes would continue to influence future planning in areas such as education, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, and employment generation across the country.
