LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry's former resident Iftikhar Ali Malik Sunday said Pakistan’s strategic location at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, and the middle East places it in a unique position to influence regional peace, connectivity, and cooperation.
In a meeting with Pakistan-Japan Socio Economic Association's (PJSEA) representatives led by its President Ms Sitara Arif, he added that Pakistan is steadily emerging as a net stability provider in a region long marked by geopolitical volatility and economic uncertainty. Pakistan’s contributions to global peacekeeping missions and counter-terrorism efforts underscore its dedication to maintaining peace beyond its borders. By combating extremism and strengthening internal security, he asserted, the country has created a more stable domestic environment, which in turn positively impacts the wider region.
In a rapidly changing global landscape, Malik said, Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy, emphasis on peaceful coexistence, and commitment to regional integration are enhancing its credibility as a net stability provider.
With sustained efforts, the country has the potential to further solidify this role and contribute meaningfully to peace and prosperity across the region, he maintained.
SAARC Chamber's former president mentioned that Pakistan's efforts in promoting regional connectivity through infrastructure and trade initiatives are also fostering economic interdependence, which is essential for long-term stability.
Leader of the delegation Ms Sitara Arif said that economic diplomacy is another area where Pakistan is playing a constructive role. By encouraging trade corridors, energy cooperation, and investment partnerships, she said, Pakistan is helping to build a framework of shared prosperity. Such initiatives not only reduce tensions but also create incentives for collaboration among regional stakeholders, she remarked.
