Pakistan Day observed in Lower South Waziristan, tree plantation drive launched

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) A dignified ceremony was held in Lower South Waziristan on Monday to mark Pakistan Day with national zeal and fervor.

The ceremony was attended by district administration officials including Deputy Commissioner Musarrat Zaman, District Police Officer Muhammad Tahir Shah, and Assistant Commissioner Wana Rizwan Burki,police officers, tribal elders, and a large number of local residents.

The ceremony began with a flag-hoisting, followed by special prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner and the DPO formally inaugurated the “One Million Tree Plantation Campaign” by planting saplings.

Officials stated that the initiative aims to improve the environment and promote a greener region.

A rally was also organized to commemorate Pakistan Day, where participants expressed their patriotism and offered prayers for the stability and integrity of the country.

The ceremony concluded with well wishes for continued peace and development in country.
