Pakistan Day marked at Christian Housing Society

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) The Roman Catholic Christian Cooperative Housing Society celebrated Pakistan Day with a flag hoisting and cake-cutting ceremony, led by Society President Sarfraz Francis and other guests.

The event was attended by government officials, General Secretary Rawalpindi Bar Council Qamar Niazi, Parish Priest Father Asif Riaz, Dr Joseph Arshad, special representative for interfaith harmony of Archbishop Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Babu Sajid Ameen Khokhar, and society members. Participants raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Paindabad.”

Sarfraz Francis said the Lahore Resolution of 1940 laid the foundation for a separate homeland for Muslims, leading to the creation of Pakistan.

He paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and other leaders for their vision and sacrifices.

Qamar Niazi said Pakistan Day reminds citizens to value the nation, pursue education, work diligently, and contribute to its development and prosperity. Dr Joseph Arshad highlighted the importance of national unity and interfaith harmony.

Participants offered special prayers for the peace, stability, and progress of Pakistan.

Sarfraz Francis thanked attendees and urged everyone to play their part in strengthening the country. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the national anthem and slogans of national pride.
