Over 1,500 personnel deployed on Eid; CCPO warns against aerial firing

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) City Police have been placed on high alert with deployment of over 1,500 personnel to ensure foolproof security across provincial capital during Eid-ul-Adha.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed on Wednesday, conducted field visit to review security checkpoints, roadblocks, and patrol strategies established throughout the city, issuing directives to police officials to protect lives and property of citizens at all costs.

Under comprehensive security plan, strict monitoring has been intensified at all entry and exit points of the city, sensitive locations, cattle markets, and bustling commercial centers.

To maintain an unyielding security blanket, special patrolling units, including mobile, bike, and squads are conducting round-the-clock rounds, backed by 24/7 digital surveillance from the Safe City project and central police control room.

CCPO stressed that police force remains fully prepared to handle any untoward situation. In his message to public, he also issued a stern warning against celebratory aerial firing, and said that it is a dangerous act that threatens human lives rather than expressing true happiness, and confirmed that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
