One dead, two workers unconscious after electric shocks

LAYYAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) A tragic incident occurred during a sanitation operation in Layyah, where one person lost his life and two workers of the Suthra Punjab Program fell unconscious after suffering an electric shock.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the incident took place in Chak No. 171, where a local resident and two sanitation workers were carrying out cleaning work when they accidentally came into contact with an electric current.

All three victims were immediately shifted to the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Chak No. 172 for emergency treatment. Owing to their critical condition, they were later referred to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Layyah for advanced medical care.

At the hospital, local resident Tahir Arrain, who had sustained severe injuries, succumbed to his wounds. Meanwhile, the condition of the two Suthra Punjab workers was reported to be stable and improving.
